Sustainable Investing
Align your investments with your values.
Sustainable Investing, also known as “ESG Investing” is the deliberate practice of incorporating environmental, social and governance factor analysis into traditional financial analysis. While the idea of sustainable investing is not new, it is becoming more and more popular. Investors commonly relate the term to socially responsible investing, which is a similar investment strategy used in the past to exclude companies and industries on a basis of moral values (ex: alcohol consumption, gambling, etc.). Sustainable investing has further evolved socially responsible investing to put a greater emphasis on what companies to include, rather than exclude from a portfolio, giving rise to a range of complementary approaches that follow specific standards to be used to implement sustainable investment strategies.
At Saratoga Financial Services, we support our clients that have a strong desire to align their investments with their values, and work together to understand their core beliefs and goals to better create a portfolio with meaning.

The return on ESG Investing may be lower than if the adviser made decisions based solely on investment considerations.
